This year, Grinnell High School Fans will have an additional option for purchasing tickets to athletic events. The school has partnered with Birmingham, Alabama based StateChamps.com to provide this service.
Grinnell Activities Director Chris Coffman said that the StateChamps’ solution was perfect because it is free to the school and doesn’t require the school to purchase or maintain costly ticket scanning equipment. “Their Share and Tear Technology is great in that it uses the ticket buyer’s phones instead of relying on paper print outs and scanning infrastructure. Our fans have been asking for the ability to buy online for a while. We’re glad to have a partner like StateChamps to help us deliver,” he said.
Currently, all football games are available online, and soon, season tickets and other athletic events will be available as well. Fans can go to Grinnell’s page directly at https://statechamps.com/GrinnellCommunityHSIA or they can call 844-50-CHAMPS. Once purchased, tickets are delivered directly to the StateChamps app on the ticket buyer’s smartphone. Tickets can be shared through the app to friends or family members. At the event, ticket holders just show the ticket on their phone to the gate attendant to gain access. A small fee is added to the ticket price to cover the cost of the service.
Since launching in October 2015, StateChamps has reached exclusive ticketing deals with seven state high school athletics associations, including the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Michigan High School Athletic Association, the Louisiana High School Athletics Association, the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association, and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, as well as hundreds of individual high schools in Iowa and nationwide.
