The Grinnell 7th grade football team notched 2 wins over Marshalltown on the road Tuesday. The A team won 16-0 and the B team lit up the scoreboard scoring 5 touchdowns to win 30-0.
In the A game the Tigers executed an onside kick to start the game and went down and scored on a Brady Coffman TD run. Coffman ran in the 2 point conversion as well. The score remained 8-0 Tigers until the 3rd quarter when Coffman scored again on a nice run around left end. Jack Hoopes ran in the 2 point conversion. Other offensive highlights were a beautiful deep pass from QB Derek Doty to WR Ryan Mcilrath and a halfback pass from Coffman to WR Logan McDonald. The Tiger defense were swarming to the ball all game and held the Bobcats to very few total yards in the game.
In the B game RB Jeremiah Stallings scored 3 TD’s on the ground, QB Cole Hotchkin scored on a nice bootleg run and Hotchkin found WR Max Kibbee on a short pass that Kibbee turned on the jets and turned into 6 points.
The Tiger A team is 2-1 on the season and face Newton at home Thursday at TT Cranny Field at 4:30.
