The Tiger girls picked up a conference road win Monday night in Pella, defeating the Little Dutch 69-49. The win improved the Tigers record to 10-3 on the season and 6-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Sophomore Ivey Schmidt led the way for the Tigers with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists. Freshman Haidyn Hull was right behind with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Sophomore Meredith McKnight followed with 12 points, 7 boards and tied for a team high with 5 assists. Freshman Leah Harris was next with 10 points and 3 steals. Senior McKenna McKnight chipped in 7 points and had a team in high in boards with 9 and a tie in assists with 5. Senior Sarah Gosselink finished with 5 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. Rounding out the scoring for Grinnell was junior Megan Mauss with 3 points.
Next up for the Tigers is a conference battle at Dallas Center-Grimes. Friday’s tip time is 4:45 for the JV to be followed by the Varsity at 6:15.
