The Tiger girls picked up another conference win Tuesday night by traveling to Newton and defeating the Cardinals 79-61. The win improves their record to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Leading the way for the Tigers was senior co-captain Sarah Gosselink with a career high 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Sarah hit 8- 3 pointers, one off the school record. Freshman Haidyn Hull followed with 15 points and 4 boards. Sophomore Ivey Schmidt was next with 11 points, 4 boards, 4 assists and 4 steals. Sophomore Meredith McKnight had 6 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Sophomore Lauren Pease and senior Kylee Neighbors each had 5 points. Senior McKenna McKnight finished with a team high 9 boards and 8 assists. She also chipped in 3 points. Freshman Leah Harris rounded out the scoring with 3 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Next up for the Tigers is a big road game at Dallas Center-Grimes, Friday night. Tip time is 4:45 for the JV and 6:15 for the Varsity.
