Tigers News · Tiger 8th Graders Beat PCM

The Tiger 8th Grade Football team opened the season at PCM beating the Mustangs 20-8. The Tigers opened the game kicking off and Brady Coffman made a jarring hit on the Mustangs and the ball came loose and Coffman made the recovery. On the Tigers opening offensive play Coffman took it in from 20 yards on a quick pitch. The Tigers struck again in the 2nd quarter on a halfback pass from Coffman to WR Logan McDonald to give the Tigers a 12-0 lead at halftime.  After a scoreless 3rd quarter the Tigers scored in the middle of the 4th quarter on a 1 yard run by Coffman. The Tigers added the 2 point conversion on a pass from QB Derek Doty to TE Broc Heishman.  The Mustangs added a late TD and 2 point conversion to make the final score 20-8.

Other highlights on the night were a nice strip and fumble recovery by CB Jack Hoopes, a dominating performance by the Tiger defense and every Tiger 8th grader played in the game.

The Tigers move to 1-0 on the season and return to action at home on Sept 22 versus Oskaloosa at 4:30 PM.
