The JV2 Girls squad used their pressure defense to take quick control of the game early in a 65-34 win over the Comets of North Polk. However a 13-0 lead was made a little more interesting from the end of the 1st quarter until halftime. The tigers became just a bit too aggressive as the fouls mounted up and the game lost its flow. The Comets pulled within 7, but a 3 point shot by Marissa Neighbors right before the buzzer extended the lead back to 12. The Tigers then overwhelmed the visitors in the second half – led by Megan Mauss who had 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Keelie Eitel had a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds), and Kylie Neighbors also reached double figures with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Mary Blanchard tallied 4 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Izzy Reding had 4 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals; Ella McAlexander poured in 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Marissa Neighbors had 3 points and a rebound; Beula Lee and Payal Patel had 4 rebounds each, and Jayden Brown had 2 rebounds and a steal.
