The middle school tiger wrestlers hosted BGM, Knoxville and Norwalk teams this evening. Grinnell was able to tally 14 wins and 22 losses with 8 of our wins coming by way of pin and two wins by way of Technical Fall (TF). Technical fall is winning a match due to outscoring an opponent by a 15 point margin. A couple of the young tiger wrestlers were able to make improvements in nearly advancing through all three periods without loss. The attitude of aggression and setting a competitive pace continues to be the challenge for our young group overall yet again tonight.

The wrestlers included for the one pin club for the night were Oliver Louden (1-2); Brayden Graff(2-0); Ray Walker (1-2) and Levi Druliner(1-1).

The two pin club for the night were Dylan Heater(2-0) and Teylor Doty(2-1). Good hard wrestling guys!!!

The Dominator award goes to the wrestlers who won all their matches for the night by either pin, points or combination of both. The Dominators for the night were two of our small but mighty wrestlers on the team in Dylan Heater and Brayden Graff. Brayden Graff’s second win for the night was a Technical Fall. This is a true testament to having a good partner in the practice room to help each other improve! Great job guys, way to be aggressive!!!

Other scores for the night were: DJ Stalling(2-1) with a TF, good wrestling DJ; Dominick Clayton(1-1); Joe Prior(1-1); Nate Stringfellow(1-2); Daryl Nusbaum(0-2); Theren Arends(0-2); Xavier Moyes(0-2);Tyler Adrian(0-2) and Aundraya Hernandez(0-3).

I would like to say thank you to all the family and fans that came out to support our student-athletes as it means a great deal to us all! Thank you to all the parents that volunteered, Dale Clayton on PA, Brian and Julie Heater wrestler score tables, Brent Lloyd and Shawn McKay all helping to make this meet run smoothly.

We will have yet another quick turnaround from wrestling tonight to wrestling Thursday; we are however grateful to have two practice days to regroup prior to pushing for a strong end of the season. The next opportunity to watch the young tiger wrestlers will be this coming Thursday, December 6th at Belle Plaine and Dececember 7th at South Tama. The next two away meets will have a 4:15p start time. Come out and support our TIGER WRESTLERS!!!
