Grinnell Tigers Varsity built a six-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Dallas Center-Grimes’s charge for a 6-4 victory on Monday. Dallas Center-Grimes scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Cody Hall and a single by Caleb Dicken.
Grinnell Tigers Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Dallas Center-Grimes to score four runs in the sixth inning. Hall and Dicken all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
In the first inning, Grinnell Tigers Varsity got their offense started when Jayden Gibson doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Zack Beekmann took the loss for Dallas Center-Grimes. He went two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one.
Grinnell Tigers Varsity totaled eight hits. Gibson and Blake Hollibaugh each collected multiple hits for Grinnell Tigers Varsity. Hollibaugh and Gibson all had two hits to lead Grinnell Tigers Varsity.
Hall led Dallas Center-Grimes with two hits in three at bats.
